Photography-Halloween-11/11, 12/12 and beyond

There was quite a build up to October 31.

Yes Brexit again and the shops were onto it  Apart from the pumpkins there were other essentials which needed to stockpiled.

Memories of that military order

“Hurry up we are going to be late- then we all wait and wait!”

Well the images of Halloween were more than that.

And then suddenly they were all for the compost heap- ready to nourish next years crop of…….. IMG_0516

Even in the supermarkets there is nothing so out of date as a pumpkin carving kit on 6th November or a flask of fake blood.  Although thinking about the strength of words used in the media about the forthcoming election that fake blood might still have its uses.  At least it would be better than having any real blood spilt.

My real worry is that I am missing some thing.  We have not even got to December and already the supermarket have reduced price Mince pies.

Is Doctor Who, that famous time traveller,  controlling the time table and I am on a fast forward track?  Please can I get off and actually enjoy?! November and December.

It would certainly be a serious omission to miss the events of   11 November Armistice day which made holding elections such as  12 December possible

With it only being days to Remembrance day on 11 November it is worth thinking about all those who fought and died to preserve democracy.  Just hope that the current political discussions do not forget those principles.  Nicely summed up by the quote

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”

This was written by Evelyn Beatrice Hall as an illustration of Voltaire’s beliefs
